The LandAirSea 7100 is a web-based real time tracking system that uses GPS technology to accurately determine the exact location of your vehicle.
The LandAirSea 7100 does not require a set monthly service fee. The fees that are related to the amount of tracking you do is called Fair and Flexible Tracking. You can set the unit to update its location while the vehicle is moving and can be set to update in the following increments : 5, 15, 30, 60 minutes, 4 hours, daily or weekly. The costs for these automatic location updates are shown in the table below. If you are only going to use your tracking device to occasionally track its location, these are called pings. Pings are billed at 25 cents each.
The unit also has 3 inputs which can be connected to your vehicle's alarm system or airbag inflation system to inform you if your alarm is going off or if your airbag was inflated.
You can also use the LandAirSea 7100 to disable your vehicle from driving anywhere in the event that it was stolen. The LandAirSea 7100 is very easy to install on your vehicle. It comes with a single antenna and a power cable that connects directly to your battery or fuse box.
Sounds pretty good.

not quite. but being inside buildings, especially large one such as parking garages, can distort or lose the signal.

I would think that the gps antenna would need to see the sky so i would think it would be easily visable by theifs. So once they catch on they will just cut the antenna.
What they need to do is just adapt a cell phone technology that just stays in your car and when you want to find your car you just call it. I think the 3g uses gps to sycronize there tower pulse so you in turn would know what tower your using, then by using the air delay you would know how far your car is from the tower...this would make a priemeter; but you would find it sooner or later. Hopefully sooner.

Edit: someone mentioned cell phones...
If you have 2 cellphones you can leave one turned on and in your car
I used to work for AT&T wireless (Now Cingular...blah blah blah) and in all their (current) GSM cell phones there is a GPS tracking device. So if you have a flat tire, you're lost, you presume your girlfriend is cheating on you, etc. Just call the operator and they'll be able to pinpoint where you're calling from or where your other phone is (ex: if it was stolen, or you want to check up on the girlfriend's location) at anytime.

This is not real time tracking. With the above, you need the actual unit to retrieve and plot the driving data to the software they provide.
Will do you no good if your car is stolen and you are unable to have remote or physical access to the unit.

Well is says that you can have it active when an alarm goes off.
I don't know how smart the software is but I can think of a couple things.
1. If your alarm goes off and the theives cut your power and the alarm is no more. The GSP's thing is no good if they don't move the car and strip it where it is.
2. If you can start the tracking once the alarm goes off and the vehicle is in motion, then you can have it keep a record and if the car dissapears you can see where is was before it went missing on the GPS. However, this may pose a problem if your car is already in a garge parking complex, because you may never know if it left.
