so after 40+days and nights and $10k later I got my car back about 2 weeks ago.
finally got around to take some after pics

I basically lost control of the car going to an on-ramp and slammed into a wall.
miraculously, my friend and I were not hurt. just the teg.

but shes back for good now.

Ron - who's just waiting on the SPOON rims he ordered 2 months ago.

 

Obviously, the wreck was due to improper tire installation. Aren't they mounted in the wrong direction?

The reason I ask is because by the pics it looks like you live somewhere in my neighborhood. Belmont/Diversy.

I drive the same exact car minus the rear OEM kit and I have yet to shave my spoiler. Send me a line sometime.

Hey G_S_R, I think I know where you live.. I know I drove by there before, because the area looks familiar.

 

Pleeeease let us know who installed your rims and tires!!

If you did that yourself, too bad....
But if a shop did that, it's their fault. Not that I encourage you not to own up your own mistake for driving out of limit, but a tire in wrong direction CAN let you slide out unexpectedly.

 

Dang man... thats gotta hurt. Good to see everything fixed. And yes please tell us about the tire thing...

the shop that fixed it is international body shop in elmhurst, right by the acura dealer on lake st. the pics were taken at my parents house by diversey and central. I live in darien but im there pretty much every weekend.

what happened is that I might have been going a little too fast and tried to slow down entering a corner that I thought was not as tight. I did a stupid,stupid, thing: ever hear of on-the-brakes oversteer? yeah real dumb. I was still on the breaks as I start to turn and the back end just came out. I was able to correct it but I countersteered too much and spun the other way and hit the wall(too much momentum). my fault indeed. good thing nobody was in front or behind me.

Something similar happened to me before as well. Last year during the blizzard, I was on LSD (Lake Shore Drive). I was approaching the S turn, by North Ave. I slowed down, and made the first turn, the second one, I had my foot on the brake, and steered to my right, and I did a 180. Luckily for me, there was no one around as well.

 

should've gotten your side door moldings shaved while you had them do the surgery! (one side was already off)

 

I know this might be a little stupid a question but are the side moldings on a GSR glued on or bolted from the inside? And are they flush with the door when taken off or is there an indent?

about the tires: me.
did some work on the rear of the car the night before,removed rear wheels, set them aside and didnt pay any attention when putting them back on. I'm such a cluts. I once forgot the wheel locks key on one and drove off. lost it and had to order one.
