Default erratic idle (4th gen) - help

After installing my AEM short ram I've noticed that below 2 grand the motor kind of farts on me. Also when I first start her up in the morning it revs to about 3 grand about 4 or 5 times in a row until I tap the accelerator. Is there something I can do to make this stop? It's really F'ing annoying when I'm in morning rush hour traffic and I have to have my clutch engaged a little just to keep her from doing this. Please help me out...

Look for any disconnected vaccum lines. If you cannot find any try replacing the fast idle valve located on the intake manifold in the middle. Let me know if this helps.

or simply adjusting the valve, or the TPS.

I would look for loose of disconnected vacuum hoses first.

Also, try adjusting the throttle cable, you might have bumped it or moved it out of position.

This is a huge problem with our cars. I have seen this post so many times, I've almost got it memorized. Good advice too. Vacuum lines first, then the fast idle valve, then the throttle position sensor, then the EGR, etc... It would be nice if someone who has had the same problem AND FIXED IT could post with there remedy. I still haven't heard of anyone actually fixing this.
Oh ya, If it bothers you that much you can adjust your idle up a bit and it will band-aid the problem, but it won't fix it.
