replaced driver side axle, works great, but ABS light is on -wierd story-
Heres the story.... i went into autozone and picked up an axle for a 96 honda accord, with abs. Anyways, when i pulled out the old axle, they didnt look the same, the old axle had a ruber circular thing at the center of it. This new one didnt, so i went back, and told them all the specs on my car again(w/ abs) and it pulled up the same(incorrect) axle... so she went into the back and pulled an axle box open that was designed for my gen car, just no ABS. - i thought it was kind of wierd, but that one did match the old one, so i didnt think to much of it and took it home, and put it in. No more rubbing and clicking noises... but, my ABS light is now on! At first i thought that i did indeed use the wrong axle, but if this one matched the one before, why am i throwing an ABS light now? Help me out guys, maybe someone with 96 ex accord w/ abs has done an axle swap on their drivers side and can verify that im supposed to have that rubber thing in the middle... thanks!
the rubber part in the center of the axle is a dampner it has nothing to do with abs ////if you look at the axle by the outer joint there are suppose to be what looks like metal teeth if not there you got wrong axle ,,if they are there you could have damaged wire for wheel sensor when you replaced axle
