New engine for 00-0043! advice plz?
I just had a new B18C5 dropped in to her at work this past week, and figured you guys would have the best "break-in" advice.
I called Jonesy from Comptech, who said to give her 100-500 miles with synthetic or regular oil, no matter.... Change it at that point and run synthetic from that point forward.
My question is, how long should I keep her under 5K? I'm up to 450 or so and I've got the itch...
Thanks,

Use Castrol GTX (non-Synthetic), or any similar oil, it does not have as many detergents, which helps the break-in procedure. For breakins, we change the oil at 250, 500, and 1000 miles, after 1000 miles you can use Synthetic.
We broke our last Supra motor in on the dyno, no smoke after the second pull. Many people use the hard break-in procedure. If you feel more comfortable doing a street break-in, try and change the load on the motor as often as possible. Example; accelerate/decelerate frequently, do not hold a stable RPM other than idle. RPM's aren't really too much of a concern, just dont sustain them for too long.
