Default Two-Tone y0!

EDIT: Got some day-time pics now (scroll down)

it's been a while since ive posted and a good bit has been happening to me and my situation with the civic. i bought a 2nd car ('91 mazda 626 4dr) and have been putting a lot of hours every night into the civic now that its no longer the daily driver. so far ive saved up and purchased a 14b turbo with intercooler, piping, and all neccessary hardware. also have a BMC manifold and a full-race traction bar is on the way. in the mean time, i took the car to the "paint booth" and gave her a little unique flavoring. i'll be putting more layers on as well as clear coating everything this weekend so i'll make sure to take more and better pics of that. anywas let me know how you guys like it, and i'll keep the updates going with the turbo. btw, everything is DIY low-budet based, and by no means is this car a show car or ever will be... ive never cared how it looks, i just get bored sometimes...

Retro

Reminds me of this blue hatch that was posted in the pictures thread...

It was from Arizona, but it had an ALL satin black wings west kit. **** looked AMAZING

If anyone could find ^^ that car, please send me the pictures/link.

I like the two tone. Get some day time pics

I wonder if a buffer and some rubbing compound can bring that blue back to life... I bet it could.

i should be snapping more pictures tommorow during the day, but i havent washed the car one time in the whole year ive owned it so far, but if theres a chance i could make the blue look decent again, i might get "bored" enough to do some buffing with a little compound. what would you suggest i use for compound and whatnot?

I liked the 3M stuff. I used it on my new paint after wet sanding. I forget off hand what the names of each were but I used the rubing cmopound which was tan/yellow then followed with the finishing compound which was grey.

I used my rotary buffer too. Depending on how jacked up the paint is... u might be able to do it by hand. I liked the rotary because it really generates the heat and friction u need to smooth out imperfections.

My friend has a Champ White ITR and we buffed his car by hand using jsut finishing compound... AMAZING difference. We actually started it because the car had a dealer sticker a while back I guess which has since been removed. And the sticker left a "clean spot" I guess where the paint wasn't exposed to the elements.

Basically after a lil finishing compound the car looked like TRUE CW... the reason why people like it so much. Whereas before it looked more like the dirty white I've heard it called.

From those night pictures, it just looks like minor scratches. Those can be buffed right out.

This is what happened to my first ever paint job (done in my garage) after some careful and time consuming wetsanding along with some good buffing.
