What exactly is a SLeeper?
1) Wrong forum
2) "Sleeper" means a car that looks stock but it significantly faster than stock. By definition, not a ricer, since they aren't making mods for looks.
An example, a guy hid a turbocharger underneath a stock exhaust manifold heatshield, and the intake pipe looked like a cold-air intake.

a "sleeper" can also be a factory oem stock car. back in the day, for instance, you could order a Coronet with a 440 wedge motor and no extra trim and bench seats and pie plate hub caps. looked just like the bread and butter 6 cyl model. til you mashed it
in 1990 i owned a Taurus SHO. that was a sleeper, to be sure!
now-a-days, most "hot" cars look hot; fast cars that don't look fast don't seem to sell too well.... i miss the sleepers, though!

If you don't let the dirty 17 inch wheels scare you, I have a talon that's a good candidate. From the inside you see eibach ers springs on coil overs with konis, good pads ss brake lines, bigger turbo, bigger fuel pump, boost controller, all the breather bolt ons and awd. But from the outside you see a dirty, dark red colored, ten year old car. Never would think it can do FTD on street tires at porsche or bmw club autoxes, or that it's a "13 second car". lol I love this thing. Just had to post this unrelated information to this forum.
It's a maneuver in wrestling or martial arts where you incapacitate someone by shutting off the carotid artery. Grab the handle and push the button.

Sleeper is an energy-saving control panel for the Mac which will dim your screen, spin down the hard disk, and power off Energy Star compliant monitors. Simply select your desired sleep times in the control panel and let Sleeper take care of the rest. Preferences can also be set to have Sleeper password-protect your screen and shut down or put your Mac to sleep after a period of inactivity. In addition, a hotkey can be used to put your Macintosh to sleep on demand.
And now you know.

Hmmm
I would say any car that you think is gonna be slow. For instance when I see a riced out car I always assum eit's gonna be slow. Because they usualy are.
I just put my 93 civic back to stock myself but even with no body mods since it's shiny people assume it's gonna be fast. So even though my car is stock on the outside it can easily run 13s and people still expect it is gonna be a fast car. So try as I might I don't think I can call it a sleeper.
now if I didn't wash it and kicked in some panels then put on steelies with only one hub cap it might be a sleeper.
Knew a guy back in the day with a dodge omni with a 350 rear wheel drive that ran 11s. Looked like total **** but he cleaned up and won money racing on the street.

my foot's asleep... that's a sleeper.
a stock looking civic with an itr is boring to me.
be awesome to see a Cressida w/ a 2J...that's a much cooler sleeper.

Sleeper? Looks like nothing on the outside. Runs like stink when you press the gas. You can see the cage and the Sparo seats in my car but other than that I would say it is a "sleeper". Faded original paint, dent in the hood and right passenger door, and a slightly askew rear bumper cover. Looks like nothing. Under the hood and in the wheel wells, well that is a different story.

Oh, so you have to be running rich and have a hole in the exhaust, so the carbon monoxide puts the passengers to sleep?
