another crx rust story...
everyone knows that crx's are prone to rust...well mine has just a little on the driver side rear pannel. and everyone is saying "use bondo" but...i think after awhile it'll just get worse so i'm trying to see what the best thing to do is.
I was wondering if it's only the si's that get the rust b/c i could find a rear pannel that has no rust and use that...
another thing is price, i don't want to spend too much so anyone who has worked on this before and knows the best and cheapest way to go about it let me know...
-thanks

if someone said just cover it with bondo, punch them in the face.
you have to either grind off the rust and replace with a few metal patches. or weld in a new panel. then, you use some fiberglass (not fabric, resin) there is a different kind of paste stuff. then use the bondo, and smooth it all out, prime and paint it.

Whoever told you to use Bondo is a fool. Kick him in the ribs. Hard.
Just grind off all the rust and a little metal too just to make sure. Buy this stuff called Rust Stop (it's a silver liquid, comes in a can). You gotta shake it up REAL good, then coat all the metal around the rust. If there's any rust left, it'll turn black. Then go buy a fiberglass resin kit and start patching it up. Just make sure there are NO BUBBLES, or else they'll show their face later once it's finished. I did this and my car's rear quarters have made it through 2 VERY harsh winters no problem. Keep in mind I wash my car every other day in the winter season.
