type r swap with idle problems, anyone???
i just got a swap done into my 2000 ex. the car was converted to an si so i'm running the si cluster too. when the car idles, the rpm bounces from 1000-1500 rpms. also when i drive and go pass 5500 rpms, the needles drops down to 0. i'm running a p28 ecu with the type r motor. anyone have any thoughts on this?

it's a copy of the mugen. chipped to hit vtec at 5500 and redline at 9200 nothing major. no leaks on the im. i ran a usdm b16 ecu and the car idles fine, and the rpm needle works fine. i just don't know what's goind on.

I would start by looking for sensor wire changes (in their location at the ecu) from the b16 ecu and the p28. Maybe your chip has a bad burn on it. Do you know anyone with the same motor to test?
nope. i wish i knew someone else. i just got this ecu reprogrammed a second time on monday, and just got it back today. thanks for the help.
