it might actually hurt your fiuel economy as many intakes are designed to cause the air to move in particular fashoin to enhance combustion.

I would not buy one

Consumer Reports did a review of the Tornado and a couple other gas savers:

http://tinyurl.com/5skhr

Their opening paragraphs state:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">With gas prices still high, readers have asked us to weigh in on products that promise better fuel economy. We tested three: Fuel Genie, Platinum Gas Saver, and Tornado. Our advice: Don't waste your money. They don’t work.

This isn't news. We've tested such devices over the years and have not found any that improve fuel economy. The Environmental Protection Agency, whose Web site lists scores of devices that the agency has tested in the past 30 years, including the Platinum Gas Saver, has had similar results. </TD></TR></TABLE>

and <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The bottom line: The best way to get the most from a tank of gas is to follow the vehicle manufacturer's service schedule.</TD></TR></TABLE>

don't you think that if it was truly that easy to increase fuel economy and horsepower that the car companies would have put them on from the factory? i mean honda is all about fuel economy, and if all you had to do was put in a "tornado", i'm sure they would have put one in...obviously it doesn't work, and spinning the air going into your combustion chamber does not help whatsoever...

I wouldnt waste my money. There was a guy who was pedaling these things on eBay. They were Knock offs of the Tornado. He basically took a strip of metal and cut 45 degree angles then bent them int so it was like a fan.. It was totally worthless. You could basically do the same thing, get a strip of metal and make one yourself.
