2.25 exhaust piping with apexi n1 muffler not loud???
what up,
i just got my exhaust put on. i'm using 2.25 piping with apexi n1 turbo muffler. also took off the res. And its quite as hell!!! i'm thinking it would be very loud, since everyone says the n1 is loud but its not?! It sucks becuase i want it to be louder..its only a tad louder then stock.
if i got a high flow cat would it make it louder?

maybe your cat is clogged.
if you really want a ricer sound, and don't have to worry about emissions you can take off the cat. that may make it a bit more raspy.

yes a high flow cat will make it a little louder. you could go test pipe too if you don't have emissions to pass. Why do you want it to be louder? loud cars that don't have the power to back it up are rice. The cars that do have the power to back it up have no choice but to be loud. drive it the way it is for a bit, and I bet you'll be glad it's quiet. also, the egg smell is a bad cat, not a lack of cat. it will smell like fuel if you scrap it though.

i have one. I'm running rich too. I shoot out a cloud of fuel when i hit vtec. people think my car is turbo because of it
. it usually does add a raspy sound, but not always. I have 2.5" exhaust, 24" resonator, es oval muffler on an n/a h22, and it is FAR from raspy. on the other hand, a friend had 2.25" exhaust with test pipe and a fireball exhaust on a n/a b16, and he was the definition of raspy. He put a high flow cat on, and it went away.

funny you guys are tslking about this, i have a 98 so i gutted my cat got a O2 simulator hooked up so i have no CEL, well i went to eimissins which are are pretty stiff, and their OBD systme was down and they ran my car (welll did the idle/300 rpm test cause my car is to low) but i passed veryhtign but hydrocarbons at idle or otherwise know as unburnt fule, so i my stock induction systme back on and and changed my oil 20 mins before i took it the second time, i had like an 1/2 tank of gas and added about 8 bottles of isoheet which is isopropyl(sp) or alcohol so it would run hotter, turned on my head lights fog lights heater on high witht he ac also on to help it idle harder/faster, the first time my hydrocarbons where 80 over the limit which he said is awesome, the second time i was 30 under the limit, i laughed just goes to show how clean hondas really run
