What seats am I sitting my fat ass on?
I'm pretty sure they are not the standard DX seats but I could be wrong.
Ah, the power of duct tape! And some seat covers from Walmart!

The reason I am suspicious of these seats not being original to the DX is shown below. Should the bolt hole circled in yellow bolt up to where my seatbelt thing (circled in red) is currently bolted to? When I bought the car, the previous owner had an old ECU supporting the driver's side seat where the missing bolt is.

With both my passenger and driver's side seats being bolted to the floor by only 3 bolts each raises some concern, especially when cornering and hard braking!!
Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the misinformation, I just googled these. My buddy has an 89 Lude, he has seat covers on the seat so I was going by shape. I've never seen CRX DX seats, so I can't comment.

If they are DX seats, then why are they only bolted down with three bolts? Where is the fourth bolt supposed to bolt up to? Perhaps where my seatbelt thing is? Or is it supposed to bolt to the floor? There is a hole there but it does seem like it's supposed to bolt to the floor cuz the rail hovers about 2-3 inches above the floor. Things that make you go "Hmmmmm?"

The seats look to be stock DX. On my 89 crx dx the seat belt reciever was mounted to the seat rail, not directly to the floor like that. Are the 88s are different? Maybe you have the wrong year rails for the car?

cars that have the pillar mounted belts have the latch on the car instead of the seat rail. therefore, since you seem to have either a canadian car or an 88 (since you said it was a dx) those seats could be out of a differen't year dx.

Well, the car is a USDM 1990 DX and it had no female seatbelt pieces when I bought it. The ones on there now are from an Accord I believe. But that doesn't really solve my problem of having only three of the four bolts actually being bolted.
Can anyone with a 90 CRX take a pic of their OEM seats and the back of the seats showing the seat rails and female seatbelt parts and where they bolt up?
Much appreciated! Thanks again for all the responses!

Those are CRX DX seats, I had the same ones in my 88 CRX. What the previous owner might have done is put a different year CRX DX seats in there.

Agreed...Different year seats fit differently.

Thanks again for the help guys! The only problem I'm having with these seats other than the bolt issue is they seem too low! When seated, the backs of my legs barely touch the front of the seat when I'm driving and my right leg ends up resting against the center console...kind of annoying when you drive long distances. I guess I'm eventually gonna have to find me some new/used seats! Thanks again!
it looks to me like someone bought 88 CRX DX seats and 88 CRX seat belts buckles.. because taking out the stock seats would also take out the origanal seat belt buckle.. so he had to put one from an 88. but i dont understand why he swaped them out?.. cuz they look real crapy.. he must have bought the car without seats or something.. and had those laying around.
those are crx dx seats out of a 89 to 90 the reason the third bolt wont line up is because your probubally putting them in an 88 crx right well the difference is the seat belt situation wich yes they are the same seats as a Si but the covers are different and the head rest dosent have the hollow center

you got it completely backwards, he said his car was a 90 model.. so they have to be 88 seats.. he even said it didn't have female seat belt buckles.. he had to put some in.. if they were seats from a 89-91 they would have the buckle built on to the seat

JonGP4 is right...apparantly I have 88 CRX DX seats in my 90 CRX DX and not the other way around as sohczchf thought. Here is a pic of the seat area of a non-90 CRX (Courtesy of Power Rev Racing's project thread). I don't have those raised areas where I assume the 4th bolt of my seat pan should bolt up to!
JonGP4 - If 89-91 CRX DX seats have the female seat belt buckles attached to the seats, what is supposed to bolt up to the holes where I currently have my female seat belt buckles (circled in red) bolted too?

It's not a problem...just want to know if anything is supposed to bolt up to that, unless of course the correct year seats (90 CRX DX seats) 4th bolt is supposed to bolt there.
