Default Crx Hf to Si brake question ??

I am buying a 91 crx Hf tonight. I want front only Brembo cross drilled and slotted rotors with like the pbr pads or what not. Will the ones for a crx si fit or do I need calipers too or anything else. I searched but could only find info on eg's. Basically this is what I had on my integra and this is what I want on the hf.

Will it work? Thanks again guys

I don't think they will fit. I had to swap my HF hubs for my B16 motor swap and I'm pretty sure the new rotors that I got were a different size than my old HF ones. His auction says 1.5 liter, but I am pretty sure he means 1.5 DX.

SI and DX calipers do not fit on HF hubs...

and SI and DX axles do not fit into HF hubs.

HF axles are like tooth picks anyhow.

just so you know

this may make me sound like an ***, but i'm not meaning to. just making sure you know crossdrilled rotors are just for looks, not performance, right?

well, its not so much that it makes it worse, but the little they cool doesn't make up for the area lost that the pad could grab on to. and gas released isn't a problem anymore, because new pads don't really do that. so theres really no advantage to having them drilled. i hear the slotted can help with certain pads.

on your integra, your old rotors had probably overheated many times and had pad material coked on them, and your pads probably sucked, thats probalby where the major increase came from.

i'm not trying to keep you from buying them, its not like it'll make your car not stop, but to me they're not worth the extra money i'd rather invest in quality pads. make sure you don't get racing pads, though, you'll need way too much pedal pressure for around town until they heat up.

ok so if you had just bought a 91 hf and plan on doing either a sohc vtec, ls or b16 swap what would you do about brakes like RIGHT NOW. it doesnt stop near as fast as i want it to when i go on road trips which i do about every weekend. but i dont want to have to change everything back over if i have to change the hubs or whatnot for a swap...

Ive recently just done a HF to Si brake upgrade, i had Si hubs previously and my HF calipers did bolt to them, my car doesnt seem to have much stopping power, im thinking i may have to get the Si master cylinder and prop valve to get better stoppage. but your hf calipers will not fit Si rotors

Get some blank Rotors and PBR Deluxe pads...I think that's like...$27 for the pads...and then depending on the rotors...get Autozone el cheapo ones...youcould prob be all done for >$50.

To reiterate...
-Autozone cheap rotors (if yours are shot)
-High-quality brake pads (pick your poison, just get a decent coef. of friction and a low temp rating)
-Flush your brake fluid (Valvoline Synpower is good stuff, but I haven't verified if 4th gens are DOT 3/4 or not. My guess would be, yes.)

dx front brakes are exactly the same as si ones, just get the spindles(knuckles)/rotors/calipers off a dx or si. you have to get them anyway, and it'll help. replace anything that needs it, ie rotors, pads, maybe calipers.

if you really want more than that, theres the old ex knucles (which is (i think) 10.2 inch brakes), DA (90-93 integra) ones but the geometry is off, theres also another brake thread running around now that shows 10.2 brakes with huge calipers on dx/si spindles.

yeah thats exactly what I am going to do is get the dx ones because i believe there is one in a junkyard right up the road that is untouched. I was going to buy new rotors and pads definetly. Is there anything else I should replace like the calipers what would be a good cheap but reliable option on those. And also what about brake lines etc anything else I will need I dont want to walk into this blind or without all the parts. Thanks
