stay obd1 or go back to obd0
i need help ok i got a 91 crx dx it is currently converted to obd1 with an d15b8, the question is should i just stay obd1 and go with a d16z6 or go back to obd0 and drop in an d16a6 motor that i have sittin in my garage so let me know your opinions thanx in advanced
Asking a question like that is like asking if I was willing to go back to my cassette tapes instead of CD's.
Whomever converted that DX ( which is dual point ) to MPFI and to OBD1 did you a favor. Keep it that way. Why step backwards, when you are already forward?
Just to use a D16a6 you have around?
You can run that D16a6 with OBD1 electronics ya know.
You will have to modify the OBD1 distributor and make sure its "clocked" right.
If you keep it OBD1 with a D16z6, use its own dizzy and P28 ecu.
If you keep it OBD1 with a D16a6, use a modified OBD1 dizzy and OBD1 P05 or P06 ecu ( non vtec )
If you want to go back to OBD0, use the D16a6 dizzy with a PM6 ecu.

obd1 + uberdata... hotness
Yea, do yourself a favor and stay obd-1. Like someone mentioned, if you really want to run the A6, you can run it obd-1. The d16y8 distributor will bolt up directly to the A6 head if you want to go that route (obd2 distributors will run on obd1 ecus without a problem).
I would just say keep the z6. I did.

Stay 0BD1 if you ever start modding the car it will really help with tuning options, I have a LS vtec swap in my CRX turboed still 0BD0 and let me tell you there are way more tuning options for the 0BD1 I am planning on converting myself inless this last option I have works

You don't have to do this. If you can use an A6 distributer on a Y8, then I assume you can use a Y8 distributer on an A6. The Y8 distributer IS compatible with a 1992+ ECU.

Good way of putting it. I would rather go back to vinyl than tapes!

thanx everyone for your input, the real problem was the d15b8 that is in the car is rubbish already so i was thinkin of savin money and just droppin in my a6 i had layin around but i thought about it and just solved it by doing a mini me instead and picked up a z6 head and thanx for all the input
Yeah i guess going obd1 is the way to go so much more tuning support.
But im gonna stay obd0 and help test the development of obd0 boost code and Turboedit rom editor
