I just picked up a 1994 Ls...Only mods are an intake, straight pipe and 2 1/4 piping to a stock muffler.

Car seems to run really strong but i get a bad burnt oil smell as i drive it and it smokes sometimes. The smell is killing me and I thought it could just be the unburned gases from the straight pipe since theres no cat, and being choked by the stock muffler creating back flow. I haven't had a chance to change my cat yet and I was wonder what else I should do before I go and rip apart my valves/head etc etc.

Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

run a leak down...does the oil level do down?? could just be a few gaskets/ valve seals and small **** like that..GL

 

get a cat

or get used to the smell
