eg hatch or del sol
i have a 92 eg hacth vx (stock), this kid wants to trade me a 93 del sol si. the sol was red now is si blue, lowered, exhaust, intake. my hatch has someting wrong with the engine (dont feel like explaining). the sol has a low knock around 1800 rpm. so pretty much we're trading same problems. i really like the sol. by the way does the si sol have 1.6 SOHC v-tec or non v-tec? please give me some advice.
The delsol Si has 1.6L SOHC VTEC motor. I would trade him in a heartbeat. Motors are both messed up, but yours has an inferior motor either way, if you car hasnt been painted then the paint is probably pretty shot and his has a fresh paintjob, and a few goodies. His car is a year newer and higher trim model than your hatch so probably worth a bit more.
Trade him!!
Trade him!!
Keep the EG hatch, cus it's a better platform.
Plus it's a couple of hundred pounds lighter
look in the comestic/appearence forum, there's more EG hatch then Delsol and you know why??
EG hatch is the most prefer platform when tuning hondas.

The hatch is a better all around car regardless of the trim model of the del sol... I would say the hatch unless you only want the option to have one other person with you or unless you have another car that seats more...

Get what you like – we all have different tastes and ideas. I got a 92 cx hatch because I feel like it’s a good platform to build the car I want. If your not planning on doing a swap or running your car then the sol is a better buy because it has a better engine ect but they lack the space a hatch offers.
The sol is a better car stock because it’s loaded and yours is not. It really depends on your vision and what car will suet you best.

everytime i look at the sol the more the paint dont look soo hot! there is a couple of runs a screw ups. my paint on the vx isnt that bad, it needs to be buffed. my interior is a lot nicer than his. and it blue smokes and is knocking. i think i am goin to keep the eg and drop a d15B SOHC vtec. not a lot of power but thats really i can afford right now. if the motor holds out until the end of summer then maybe a b16a2? dont know, what ever happens......happens.

So true. The hatch is a much better platfor no matter hwta anyone says.
Lighter, more seats, more in the "JDM" theme
jk
But i like hatches much more than a del sol. The only thing thats cool is they have targa tops....but then again, del sols are kinda girly (ready for any flames).
KEEP YOUR HATCH! You will be happier in the long run, or you will hate yourself within a month after the trade

No flames, but you're right, the girlies like 'em.

So your saying that a auto 1.5 sohc hatch is better than a Del Sol VTEC??
*COUGH* (bull$hit!)
In response to only having room for one person:
Have you ever gotten stuck taking someone with you?
Someone you REALLY didn't want to take? I haven't! Not in my Sol!
About the only things a hatch has on a Sol is a back seat and its a LITTLE lighter!
THATS IT!!!!!
Those things aside, they are pretty much the same car!!!
I really don't see where all these people get off saying "Del Sols are chick cars!!"
Of all the Del Sols I've seen in my area, I have seen ONE girl driving one!!
I've seen alot more girls driving hatches than I have Sols!
Then there is the ever-popular...
"Sol's are LESS STABLE because they have a targa top!"
Complete crap...
I've driven a hatch, and I own a Sol... I really couldn't tell a difference...
The only thing I noticed was I was more comfy in my Sol, and I'm not a small person by any means,
so lets put the "small interior" myth to rest too!
(6'1" 220lbs, think football player)
I could keep this rant going forever, but I'm just going to end it with this:
In th end it's your decision. Go with what you think you'll have the most fun in!
But before you make your final choice, there's one thing you've gotta do.
Take the Sol out for a drive at night with the top off... Then you'll know if you want a Sol!
