well is there anything that u can majorly screw up if u do it wrong.. only thing id guess is u couldnt change gears cause the shifter wouldnt work.

i read on about tranmsissions and such on howstuffworks.com and i learned what a dust shield was!!! go me, i actually know wtf u guys are talking about now

just climb under your car take out the bolt that goes threw the shifter and then take out the two 12mm bolts that hold that up drop the whole thing down and pull your old shifter out.

woa... never seen that there before.. probly because all the cars ive looked at they were all autos and arent supposed to have that. but eh doesnt look too tricky

thx for pic

long time ago i thought all u had to do was take the shifter out from the inside of ur car, and put a new one back for a short shifter... but i was retarded, and less retarded now and didnt know exactly what a short shifter was.

The silver looking pipe is the exhaust and the other pipe is the shift linkage which is what the shifter is attached too.

I'll keep the picture up for a bit so save it for reference.

Good Luck !

Good Day,
RH.

(topside)
Remove shift ****.
(under car)
Unbolt the 12mm bolt that goes through the shifter.
Then unbolt the 2 12mm bolts on the back, holding the stabilizer rod to the body.
Drop the linkage down and undo the 2 10mm nuts on the bottom of the shifter.
Pull the plate off and take out the shifter.

You can also unbolt the whole stabilizer rod from the tranny, that way you dont have to do all this **** while under the car.

To install , do all this in reverse.
