Default how many trannies have you broke??

i just blew up my 3rd transmission in my crx within the year and a half i have owned it.this is kinda funny , heres my list of tranny and cause of death.

#1 dx 5 speed, it basically threw the spider through the case durring a high rpm holeshot. the engine was a d15b2 mpfi swapped and 230,000 miles

#2 89 si tranny, broke 2 shift forks and the surprizing thing is i drove it for a month like that. one day at a gas station it failed to go into reverse so i swapped it out. this was with jdm d15b vtec.

#3 last monday night i was hitting some turns and the last time i went for 3rd it just wouldnt go in, i finally got it to go into 3rd hit 4th slowed to a stopsign and when i took off i tried for second and she was gone. managed to get it home by doing a u turn in 3rd uphill and rolled through a few intersections, whined like an sob the whole way. just another si tranny..........

my project as of now is to assemble #2 with shift forks from #1 , haha. i work at a tranny shop so i might as well do new seals too. tell me some effed up trannies you have.

b16a+j1 trans+sticky tires+wheel hop=kaboom

That was more than three years ago. I am on my second J1 trans and it has held up since then.

how much stronger is b series, could i even possibly with all my mite break forks in those?all my synchronizer rings and clutching teath on the gears still looked good. i was thinking of a b18 swap to boost for a laugh but only if i get it for free or cheap , honda was only worth modifying back in my younger days.

i broke of a shift fork on my first si tranny while i stomped on it to pass a car on the highway. i pulled it out and took it apart to see what broke and i only had a couple capfulls of fluid in there. if i was you i would really look into getting a zc tranny, they are a lot lower geard and make a sohc haul ***. they really seem to be stronger to. i put mine through hell and it works good. i use the zc with stock axels with 86 accord shafts to make them fit with a 86 accord clutch and a crx pressure plate. i love it. thanks

omg wtf r u talking about... stock zc is effin reatarted and long geared.... i would use a zc with an si final drive if i wanted to spend$$$$ on a zc tranny but untill i find one for like 50 bucks im going to hold offf on it. the zc is stronger but more like a dx tranny with stock fd . hondas are just fun to **** up theyre a dime a dozen lol

Si trans = 2 1 89 and 1 91
DX trans = 2 1 88 and 1 90
HF trans = 1 Just because I could, unknown year.

Two Si's and 1 DX were broken because of a faulty differential pin caused by previously using the wrong axels on my part. The axel ends were rubbing it and forcing it to heat up and eventually a strong shift would cause it to snap. Mind you, this is one little solid piece of material and it would be thrown all over the casing and destroy trans. But yeah, I'm good at destroying trans, and I don't really race uzzled: . - Darrell
