Default 95 gsr motor in a 99 gsr???

i have a 95 gsr motor and i'm thinking about buying a 99 gsr shell. it's a good deal for the shell so i was wondering if i was going to have a alot of problems if i put a od1 motor into a od2 car?

check emission laws in your area if you want to do it legal. Last I heard you cannot put a older motor into a newer car. Maybe thats just the special laws we have here in Cali

but we can swap newer motors into older chassis? i was told that if its obd1 keep it obd1.. if its obd2 keep it obd2.. ??

It's called "back-dating". Your not aloud to use any older parts on a newer car.
This means supposedly it's illegal to replace your banged up 2000 door for a 1999 one. The logic is safety improvements and emissions. Truth is, well here in In., no one cars. This is also why you supposedly can't put a 350 in a Miata or 240sx, however people still do it.

I doubt anyone would care if your swaping the same engine, with same emissions into the same type of car. You never know though.

You can't legally do it in most states.

Got through Colorado emissions no problem

All you need its an OBD2a->OBD1 harness and the OBD1 ecu. Simple
