Do I have to break in a air compressor

Default Do I have to break in a air compressor

I recently brought a air compressor its a 5hp 30gall 150psi max craftsmen and someone told me that i have to break it in before I use it and I was wondering is this true and how thank.

Don't know about that, but we used ours right away, no break in time or anything...

from what i remember you have to run the compressor with no load (the bleed nipple open) for about 20-30min, then fill it up and use it, make sure to drain the tank everyday.
the instructions provided should note the procedure.

You know this is a car forum, right? But your thread will be locked because it is not a car tech related.

I remember when I used to work at pep boys our air compressor had to be drained each day as well.

says right in the instructions, i got the same one run w/ bottom water **** open for 10 min...there's a whole precedure to follow

although crx forum may not be the best choice, last time i checked, people use air compressors on cars.
