Bump for some opinions. I was thinking about getting the kteller piping kit with a resonator and running it without a muffler also.

I did for a week and it wasn't louder than most fart cans, a nice low rumble. I have a muffler on now, but only to attract less attention.

I have only a 3" -24" long resonator no muffler no cat. i love it. At certain RPMS (2100 and 2800) it's kinda loud as the frequency hits resonance, but otherwise it's like deep low grumble from a 4 banger.

Here's a vid of it flying by: http://web.umr.edu/~amsrh7/car/turbo_teg.mpg

you can hear it over the other guys' engine, but it's not bad

i dont really want it to be very loud, quieter than my straight 3" to fartcan.
my dad is actually buying me the cat and resonator to put w/ my muffler so the neighbors will shutup about my car being loud.
i might end up getting a dif. muffler, canister type since i have a crx. but might just use cat/resonator. i dont know, ill post up on this again once i get it on if anybody wants to know what it sounds like or whatever.

If you are buying a new exhaust to make it quieter you should buy a muffler like the ES Oval or something pretty quiet like that also they are really cheap. My buddy runs no cat and a resonater and no muffler and its pretty loud, i mean it screams when he is in boost but its pretty loud.

I was thinkin the same thing. kinda. Since I am poor I will run 2.5 cat and 20 something inch resonator on a basic singlecam. Figured the cat and resonator will quite it down a bunch and I could do everything new for less than $150. poverty is owning to many cars.

I have 2.5 piping from turbo to the tailpipe, with one 40" long x 4" case (huge) resonator (from summit) around the shifter tunnel area. The car sounds ok I think, not too loud at all, pretty deep at idle. It's called a 'magnum thrush' glasspack.

I have the same setup, it sounds real nice and deep, and at idle is almost like stock. Doesnt sound like a Honda and is still quite enough to hear the turbo spoolin
