I dont know a WHOLE lot about the k series crap. Im into the b series crx's and i have a gsr one im doing so thats my race car. But as for my getting around car i got a celica gts 2000 for $8800 after taxes! so im thinking of selling it for $10,000 and trying to buy an type-s. I know these cars hold their value really well and the reaction to mods are crazy. What do you guys think? i mean i dont have a bunch of money to throw but if i sell that car then i may be close.

I called a guy today and he has a black on black type s with 39k miles. h said he can take 14,800..which is still good considering blue book is 17k! i told him i can do 12k and he was kinda stunned but we talked for like a half an hour so it sounded like if i can get to him with that 12k then he might just do it! Now i think this is a killer deal if i got it for 12k! what do you guys think? there is a white 02 base for 11k with 50k miles i can prolly get for 10..i dont know what to do or try! anyone want a celica

actually i just found one for 12,900 a type s with 60 or 80k miles? it was an 02 but was gold with tan interior so i didnt want that...i fiund a really nice base model real clean all stock black but had that ugle cloth interior. 11,000 with like 50k? anyway can u swap the ecu's and stuff to pick up power? i mean what all gives the type s the power it has? IM, TB, ECU, exhaust etc??

and it says ur in MN so your a bit a ways away unless you knew someone down here. Reason i like it is because the K series and the celica gts motor are VERY similar..

I doubt that you'll get $10000 for your gts. But RSX-S w/ only 39k miles for around $12-14000 should be a pretty good deal. And forget about the base (eventhough it has only 11k miles) since you can get the -S for that price.

yea but id rather spend 14k on a clean title then 10k on a salvage. i fiund a few even at dealerships for 15000. i'll get one i just gotta sell the celica. blue book on the celica is $9400-$10100..so i figure with the premium wheels and the new dunlop SP's i should get that $10k. id take $9800

You probably don't want the base. It has a different motor. Its not just swapping out the parts. To get the same power as a type S you would need a complete motor swap.
