Thinking of swiching my B18C in for a LS turbo, any thoughs?
I'm currently running a B18c in my 92 Hatch and will probably be switching it out for a LS Turbo here in a few months. I've had the LS for about 6 months now and just start the clean up and rebuild on it. The B18C is quick, or Mustangs are just slow, but do you think all the extra work is worth it?
Build and boost the b18c imo. Wrong forum by the way. You may get better resposnes in the eg forum or the forced induction forum.
Well, I was looking some thing for a friend for his CRX. I thought that the low compression LS non Vtec would be a better build for the turbo.
I thought you were asking for yourself..
But I would definitely ask in the fi forum. I believe the answer lies with how much power you want to make and how much money you are willing to spend.

It's cheaper if you don't want to build becase the fact that a B18 already has a low compressio so you can run a low PSI 8-12 and still be safe whereas if you stay with the B18c you'll have to lower the compression to run a turbo safely which will require a rebuild.
I was asking for me, I just didn't realize I was still in the CRX / EF forum when I posted it.
Well I could get more out of selling my B18C which is quick the way its and use the money to help with the LS Build. As you know cost vary and you never remember every thing when you planning it but I'm looking at about 4500.00 for the build on the LS. Looking for a simple 275 at the wheels.

If youre going to spend 4500 on a build, then build the motor you have with lower comp. pistons and sleeving the block, and build the head. The gsr has a good flowing head already so forcing more air into that headwould be even better, plus you would have vtec. If you want power with a turbo go with the gsr. You dont see drag cars putting out buttloads of power with an LS, I know you dont want a drag car but it was just a point.
