Default Coolant fills resevoir

It seems like my coolant is filling my resevoir under boost. My car doesn't overheat at all. I dumped the coolant in the resevoir out and there doesn't seem to be any oil in it. Is this a blown hg? When you guys talk about "look for bubbling" do you mean to open the radiator cap while the the motor is running to check to see if there's any bubbling from the radiator?

I never reused the stock head bolts because I never lifted the head before. Thanks for the help.

i would try a new rad cap , they are only like 6 bucks, and blead the system of air , if it does it again then i would look into the head gasket

HG is prolly gone but you can get a tester kit for like $20 bucks @ shucks or pepboys or whatever. I would just buy a new HG and new ARP headstuds and get it over with.

It hasn't filled the whole resevoir up yet. It only filled it up to the max level, which is aboul half the resevoir tank.

stock studs? head might be lifting a bit under boost. does the coolant stay in the over flow or go back in the system?

Do you have a D series engine? If so I would say headlifting blown headgasket

If you have any other enigine do as B18c1cya said first

This is on a b18c1. The coolant in the resevoir goes back into the radiator once the engine cools. Is this fine now? It has been a while since I changed the coolant. Actually, I never changed the coolant before. The coolant is all extra dark green, no oil present. I pulled the dipstick and the oil looks brand spanking new. I've seen coolant mixed with oil, it looks all milky.

try new rad cap and maybe thermostat. before you spend the money and time on a head gasket

this seems to be the most likely scenario, it happened to me and I used APR headstuds to fix it.

If it was the thermostat, wouldn't my motor overheat? I'm going to put on a fluidyne radiator cap tomorrow and see what happens.

I tried the fluidyne radiator cap, but it didn't fit. I still have an oem radiator. Should I just pick up another oem radiator cap and see if that solves the problem? Today, under normal driving and not hitting boost at all for about 20 min. to work, I check the resevoir and coolant went up about an inch. It got up to the min. level, but it will go back down once the motor cools.

When you guys talk about white smoke out from the exhaust, do you see a ton of white smoke when you rev the motor? I had my bro rev my motor at idle and I could see barely a little bit of white smoke right when he revs the motor then it would turn clear right away.

If it is my head lifting, would arp studs and new hg solve my problem?

Running 7 psi tuned on hondata.

For the arp studs. Do I get the main studs or the head studs?

head studs...the only way to know for sure is too pull off the head & check if the headgasket is blown. Then I guess it would be a good time to get head studs

Update:

Fast forward three months later. Recently I took a little road trip (1 hr drive) and my car started to overheat for the first time, on the way there. On the way home, the temp. rose quicker and seem like it didn't want to drop. The weather was hot and humid (90+ degrees). I barely made it home with the needle close to the "H".

Today, I finally pulled the head since it might be the headgasket like a lot of people have suggested. The hg didn't show any sign of it being blown at all. Oh well, I needed to put in arp head studs anyways and the timing belt was due for a change soon.

I wonder what did cause my car to overheat though?
