Integra gsr and ls oil filter same ?
Is the OEM oil filter for a gsr and an ls the same part number. i want to buy them in bulk from ebay.. but the description reads gsr b18 fits many vehicles.
you can never be 100% sure but im 99.9% sure.. i work at an oil shop and 90% of hondas have the same oil filter and I doubt the vtec would affect the oil filter - i say go for it.
All of them are the same, b-series, d-series, k-series, h-series, it doesn't matter which chassis or engine. Of course, there is one exception, the S2000 has always used a slightly larger filter (like the old OEM style), but it will also fit on any other Honda without a problem.
according to the dealer, all Hondas take the same filter, your only cars you should make sure of that would be different are the following:
S2000
NSX
1st Gen Odyssey
Passport
SLX
S2000
NSX
1st Gen Odyssey
Passport
SLX

Even the Passport and SLX use the same filter as the B-series. Only ones that are different (on the Acura side) are the 1st Gen. Integra, C-series 3.2TL, Legend and NSX and the 1st Gen. Legend is an odd-ball paper filter.

Actually honda replaced the gsr oil filter and most other ones with the s2k oil filters. They are much smaller and are better for vtec engines because of the compression of a small filter ? this is what i was told...

Can't believe this site entirely because they do sell them... but here is what they say http://estores.merchantpartner...d=148
actually, my personal experience is that Honda filters are good, but not great. http://www.amsoil.com check their performance oil filters. They filter better, and last longer. If your gonna run a synthetic for a lotta miles, this is a must in my book. If your car is a daily driver, not driven hard, and your gonna run castrol forever, the honda filter will be fine.

Fram sucks ***** man. I woudn't put a Fram oil filter on my worst enemys car.
But anyway, the S2000 oil filter is the best out of the OEM ones. They are all made by the same company in Japan and are of superior quality compared to the other Honda oil filters which are made by like 5 different companys. They are a quite a bit bigger than the "new" Honda filters too. I went last week and picked up a couple for my H22 and they are like 50% bigger than the new H22 filters.
I'm not worried about any oil pressure drop. The H22 filter allways used to be bigger(as is true with the B series) and it never hurt anything. I would rather have more filter media

As stated above, the OEM filters are made by Fram/Honeywell, which I would never use in my car. I would go with a filter made by a good manufacturer, such as Champion Labs (they make K&N,STP, Bosch, Mobil 1 & Walmarts Supertech filters) or Wix (Napa Gold Filters).
I personally am using Walmarts Supertech's 3593A filter on my car. It's cheap and made by a good manufacturer.
