Default Hawker Genesis G13EP Question

Can anybody offer any experience with the G13EP on a race car that still gets driven on the street? How long will it last, what kind of failure modes have you seen, etc? I don't want to get stranded 1000 miles into my trip to Topeka this year.

My brief experience (on an STS car) is that it would start with no hesitation 10-11 times in a row. The car would sit for a week and fire no problem afterwards. Currently, the car hasn't been started in 3 months (sitting on the street in the snow and freezing weather) and now the battery is dead as a door nail. I haven't recharged it (car is now in garage on jackstands).

I was/am impressed with its daily driveability when the car was running.

I had the same experience. In the summer months when the car was cranked often for races the battery was good without charging. Over the winter it went dead and had to recharge. It did stay good enough the past 2 weeks to start without being on a charger. Just bring a jump box with you on the way to topeka and you'll be fine.

Using a G13EP in my Subaru, had no problems with it. She cranks a tad bit slower in the winter time in say 5 degrees, but the car still lit off just fine. Had mine for a year, works fine for daily driving. Starts the car 6 times in a row just fine, never tried more than that since that's already getting ridiculous. from me.

Been daily driving mine for about a year. It was slow on the cranking in the cold months so I just threw the stocker back in. I recently pulled it out of the garage and back in to the car and it started right up.

I use one in my daily driver, no regrets. It was SIGNIFICANTLY better than my 6 year old OEM battery in the winter (I replaced it in December with the Hawker).

Holds up to a car stereo that can draw ~20 amps too. I can listen to music while I change my tires, or do a compression test (lots of cranking) with no problems.

I have had one in the subaru for a year or so now and as long as I started teh car about once a week or so I had no problems - if i left it sit for two weeks it would be dead, but then i'd just hook up a jump box to start it and it would be fine after that.

it was out of the car most of the winter on a battery tender and has been ok powering everything in teh car up since it went back in a few weeks ago, we'll see how it does whe nthe time comes to start it, but i have no fear of using it all summer again.

even in december when i needed to drive the car for a few weeks it was fine, turned over no problem, even on my relatively high-compression motor (10+:1)

My G-13 outlasted one car and is still going strong in its second home for more than a year now. It's never really cold where I am, so I cant say anything about that. I havent needed to start more than a few times in a row...I generally let the car idle with the hood open between runs.
