Default what happens when a rod is put on backward

I took my Gsr rods to a machine shop to have b16 pistons pressed on. Well after installing everything and running the motor, i started hearing a knocking noise. took everything back apart and the rod that was backward was the one that had a bad bearing. Did it spin because of it being backward, or could it be something else. And if it does matter about having it the right way, y would it spin a bearing within 30 mins. Im pretty well mechanically inclined but i need some help on this so if you can help me out thanks.

Thats pretty weird, i never heard of that. I would think it doesnt matter as long as the pistons are the right way, but then again i could be wrong.

Usually the way knocking (spun rod) happens is when you have no oil in the car and rev it or its a bad install.

Bump... I thought the rods were symetrical... I guess I could be wrong.

Did you use break in grease?

i used assembly lube on the front side, and i did not touch the face of the bearing on the front or back. The only thing i can think of is my friend didn't torque the arp rod bolts down to spec. Everyone that i talk to about the rod being backward says that it should make a difference because everything is balanced individually, so when they put it together its all balanced. Thats what ive been told anyways.
