Default converting to OBD1 , parts??

After realizing my pr3 can't be boosted on, i decided to go obd1....starting pricing/buying stuff out last night, and didn't realize it would be soo much...

Just wondering how much you guys typically pay for these parts and which to get?

Chipped p28
obd1 Distributor (which to get?)
o2 sensor (best place to get one?)
conversion harnesses ($150 for dizzy plug and ecu harness )

Also, exactly what dizzy's can be used...obviously a obd1 dohc vtec would be best... What does it take to use an LS dizzy? Can a sohc one be used??

Anybody buy a used o2 sensor online or ebay or anything?

You can always use a PM6 from the Si. It can run VTEC and boost with some chipping.

If you're going to convert to OBD1, you can convert most any of the ECUs to the equivalent of a P28 with just a few parts. That might make the search go a little easier.

You can get any OBD1 or OBD2 distributor, but as you know, the non-vtec ones will take a little cutting, so get a vtec one if you can. Integra GS-Rs and 99-00 Civic Si work well for this.

Try autozone or something like that for the O2 sensor. The dealer wants an arm and a leg for one, you might imagine. You can try used, but remember, that person is selling it for a reason.

I'm making my own conversion harness, but to buy a pre-made one saves an incredible headache if you don't enjoy soldering and shrink wrapping.

P28 - You can probably find a P06 for a better price [92-95 Civic DX]. RaverMotorSports can add VTEC, IAB, and TONS of other stuff to a P06 to make it exactly like a P28 or better. RaVer can also handle your socketing...but so can a bunch of other places and/or people on this board.

OBD-1 Distributor - DistributorKing

o2 Sensor - oxygensensors.com

Conversion Harness - Boomslang

good info, thanks guys. I'll start looking into those sites. I ended up buying a chipped p28 w/ skunk2 program and datalogging capible for 157 shipped priority... i dont really have the time to find a p06 or the like and have it shipped and chipped, etc, but thats pretty cool they can do that

$157 for a chipped P28 ain't bad! I'd ditch the "Skunk2" ROM though, and either run a real EMS or just cut jumper J1 in the ECU to run the stock program.

The "Skunk2" ROM is just going to make you have shitty gas mileage and lose power.

1 stop shop - I even have cleaned and flow tested OBD1 njectors in this week.
http://www.rywire.com - Dizzy, O2, wiring conversion, JKOBD Jumper harnesses, subharnesses or run through your stock harness for a cleaner look.

i'll assume u currently have an obd0 (first gen) b16? if you want a a perfect fit with no cutting, get a 92-93 gsr distributor. don't buy a used o2 sensor unless you know the person who's selling it to you. even then, i'd still suggest getting a new one from autozone (bosch) just to make sure. some people will tell you to buy from the factory, which is the best method, but damn, they sure are expensive ($200+ at honda compared to $100 at autozone for the bosch). i put the bosch in my setup, which was obd0 b16 but now obd1 b16... some people will tell you that the harness is really easy, but for my case, although the harness quality was good, i ended up cutting and soldering a lot of the wires to retrofit the way my obd0 harness was setup. it depends on whether or not your obd0 setup was jdm or usdm...if it was wired jdm, then i'd suggest reading some wire diagrams and rewire it yourself. if it was usdm, then you can save yourself some time by buying the obd1 jumper harness. the distributor is easy to cut and rewire also, but if you want to save time, then you can also buy that harness

LOL, we have factory honda 02's for cheaper than the POS Bosh ones

Also you need a td44u dizzy. Any obd1 b series works the same. 92-93/ 94-95 gsr, b16a del sol, exc...

Not that this would be ideal, but many of my friends run B16's on the stock P28 program with zero issues.

Does anybody make a plug and play harness for obd0 vtec -> obd1???

I dont wanna pay $100 for a harness then still have to mess around with mad wires.

i don tget it...but yea i did.

All these harnesses seem to be obd0 -> obd1 vtec swaps

I'm going obd0 vtec -> obd1 vtec.... i dont wanna have to go in and hack up all my wiring because these conversion harnesse already have prefabbed jumpers or w/e?

Ok, and you dont want to have to remove the couple extra wires that you had to pin into the ecu? Chit, just cut them, you dont even have to depin. I dont see what the big deal is.
