Default whisling in intake manifold

Like the title says. There's a whisling in my intake manifold. It's a stock manifold on a 2000 h22a. It happens when i'm in gear, and when I turn off the car. This happens when the motor is warm up. It's getting real annoying and i've been put up with it for a while now. It's about time i do something about it.

Does anybody know anything of this or how i can fix this problem? Would I have to get another IM??

i bet your vac lines are all hooked up wrong. Get the vac diagram out of the helms and double check ALL lines.

to tell you the truth, it sounds like the intake manifold gasket is leaking if it is whistling. does it idle weird, if so then it could be a vaccum leak with vaccum lines. but i havent heard any vaccum lines whistle when it is unplugged from the manifold which is the reason why i think it is the manifold.

you do know that most colt air intakes make as whistle, my buddyies gsr with a cold air intake always whisles depending on throttle positiona and air temp

My car had the whistleing noise also, turned out the screw to adjust the idle level on motor had fallen out. I'm almost sure you have a leak somewhere, you gotta spend some time playing with it, have someone turn it off and on as you pay close attention to the manifold, it helps. GL

Maybe you have a supercharger and don't know about it.

Oh yes. My CAI makes a loud whistle sometimes. Some people think I'm running boost or something.

try spraying carburetor cleaning around and see until you hear the motor sound change and you might find a leak..

hehe, some of ya post are funny. But really, I checked and double checked my vacuum lines with a helms manual. It was happening before I put on the hondata gasket too. It sounds like squeek squeek squeek squeeeeeeek weeeeeee..... It makes the noise when i'm in gear and in constant speed. When I give it gas, the noise goes away. The only time i can hear it when i'm looking under the hood is when i turn it off. And that's for a very short time.

My idle is messed up too. It won't stay still unless I lean it out -20% with the vafc2. It makes the car runs like **** like it's on safe mode (if that's what you call it) sometimes. Feels like a civic dx that fuel pump cuts off at 6500 rpm when it's running safe mode.

Just in case, I'll check the vacuum lines again and i'll go ahead and put the stock intake back on.

Does it only do it when you're going to work?

No leaks. It only does it on hard acceleration. The sound of sucking air.
