Default Best Turbo tires...round 8000...sorry

I am about to get some new tires on my RECREATION turbo crx. I hardly drive it, but want to keep my 16" BBS wheels. I am 99% set on a set of 215/45-16 falken azenis but they also have the parada spec-2's in 205/40-16. Basically, I am looking for a 16" tire in the 205-215 width and 40-45 series zone for maximum straight line traction. I have searched and read lots about both on this board. Just need help making final pick. Thanks in advance.

How about Nitto 555 Drag Radials?
They have a tread wear of 100 so they are pretty sticky when warmed up...

The only nitto's they have in 16" tires are about 26x9.5, not really suitable.

205/40/16 Azenis. They do not make the old azenis anymore so it's doubtful you're going to find a set when you're ready to buy. The new azenis hook/grip better, go for them.

Did you perchance stop to look at the sizes they had, for maybe just a second?

P245/50 R16

That's the only 16" tire size they have. That's 26" tall.

I have 205/55 16 azenis on my integra, they do ok I suppose. I don't have much to compare them to b/c they are the only tire's I've had on it. Right now it's putting down about 325 whp, after this weekend (tuning & more boost) it should be close to or at 400. I have searched other tires, and for the price the azenis aren't bad. I was pretty displeased at first, but then I added my traction bars, and I can hook 2nd gear now if I feather the gas moderately.

New Azenis (Azenis RT-615)
205/40/16: $93
205/50/15: $96

Old Azenis (Azenis Sport)
205/50/15: $72
215/45/16: $104

For the 16" crowd it's actually cheaper now. 20 dollars more is a nominal price to pay for a better gripping, quieter, better in the rain tire.

How do you figure? A shorter stiffer sidewall will typically result in less flex and better handling, and the compound is much stickier.

That's 205/40/16 azenis (new style) from discounttiredirect for 93 bucks. You don't need to go 15" to get good tires.

A local dealer has several complete sets of the 15 and 16" azenis sport left, I can get you their number if you're interested.

Jordo: I was thinking in the realm of cornering there for a second By all reports the new azenis have a better compound for traction, and should probably hold a bit better in a straight line. Still, 100 bucks a tire for the cornering you get out of them is not bad at all.

I was strictly refering to straight line. Stiffer side walls means more wheel hop. also, better compound? sticker or harder? sticker would result in ever more tread wear

the old azenis was almost a perfect tire for my street car. I am completely heart broken that the old ones are discontiuned.

edit: i wish they would have made a damn 215/45/16 again.

I guess, im gonna have to go with the more expensive bfg kdw2 (which is a harder compount tire also) but larger 225/45/16
$130 each

I've heard the new azenis are stickier, but have about the same treadwear. I have a set of the 16's en route and should know in a few days how nice they hook

sorry, in reference to the 15's, I was refering to maybe just going to a 195/50-15 BFG drag radial and be done with it, because I just want to hook up on the street the best I can with my average run of the mill susp set-up.
