what pistons on my gsr for turbo
Your not gonna be happy with turbo pistons on a N/A car. You think a four door Civic DX is slow. Just wait until you rock your GS-R with 9:1 pistons!
Slow your roll.. stick the money into a CD (Certificate of Deposit) for 6 months or something. The interest rate is horrible right now, but it'll make it so you can't touch the money for at least 6 months. And it'll gain a whole 3% interest while your at it.
Then when your ready to turbo your car, grab the money and buy the pistons at the same time.

yeah i agree that would be the best thing to do but the thing is right now my engine knocks and if its a rod bearing then i would just want to replace the pistons and **** while that part of the motor is apart

I suggest going stock compression JE....
The motor will handle plenty of boost to go fast and lag is going to non-existant with the right turbo. The best part is, they are going to be good enough before you even get a turbo.
Low compression is not going to make or break you (Yes, I think 9.0:1 is low). If you want a good everyday reliable setups, go with stock comp JE, shot peen rods, GOOD TURBOCSHARGER, and GOOD TUNING.
Of course, it really all depends on what you think FAST is.

good info. I'm in the same position. So a stock compression piston vs a 9:1 will gain more power, but is more prone to detination correct? But with proper tuning this shouldn't be a problem, eh?

how 'FAST' are you talking about....300 whp is fast compared to what you have now.....but then fast could also mean 500-600whp
if your talking about 300-400whp....id say get some je/cp (these brands are from my experience) around CR in mid 9's.....but if you want more power, i would lower the CR to 9.1

I didn't think of that! Like everyone had said, if you are hoping for 500-600 horsepower and you have freakishly deep pockets, then go 9:1 or 9.5:1. If you are hoping for a little less or don't like turbo lag then go stock compression pistons (or ITR compression). Then you won't lose horsepower and if you have a good tuner and good electronics (AEM EMS, Hondata, Uberdata, etc.) then they should be able to make you a good and reliable setup.
Then you don't have as much problems with turbo lag. When the turbo is lagging you still have the stock horsepower, then the turbo kicks in and it punches you straight in the... pinky toe!
