Yes, that tool is all you need.
You use the "bigger" part to remove the retainers/keepers by hitting one end with a hammer. Its magnetic and holds the retainer and keeper..it rocks!
You then put the two parts of the tool together, place the spring in teh head on the valve, place the retainer on top and place the keepers in place. You tehn take the snap on tool and press it on the middle of the retainers and viola..it pops the keepers in place. real slick

im not sure about the last one. It looks a little complicated.
But you can pretty much do the same thing to take the keepers out with just a socket.
Put the socket on the retainer and pop the other end with the hammer... and boom it's out.... a little more dangerous. But if u just need them out, It works like a charm.

I have this tool. Works well, but you need at least two people for it to work. And if the head is not attached to the engine, you need to clamp it down somehow.

yeah I have this as well, I keep finding, that the valve keep dropping and I have to move it back in place all the bloody time! so I ended up placing a folded rag under the valves and then I G clamp the end to the work bench.

I have that tool, and no valve keeper tool. I was able to do it with 1 person and my finger. It is a bitch at first, but once you get a rythm down its not so bad. I kept dropping them damn keepers in the head thou.
you do not want to go and buy new keepers... they are fine and i think the dealership charges a grip for em.. Keepers are reuseable...
As for the snapon tool that is what i use as well... you can compress the cylinders and can change out the valve springs without pulling the head... save you money on the head gasket... if you have an air compressor that is...

i just took out the valve springs with the hammer+socket method...worked like a charm my only concern is can the retainers take that type of beating?
I like to prop the head up on a couple of 2x4's on each side. Rig up the compressor tool, step on the head, compress the valve (using my finger on the valve if need be to dislodge it), then use the magnetic pickup pen to fish out the keepers off the valve stem or out of the retainer.
Takes 20 minutes I'd say to do all 16 valves.

i just bought a full set of keepers luckily i get parts at cost but at retail there 2.10 each HALF so you need 32. The person that rebuilt my head last time reused a bad keeper causing me to almost drop another valve if it werent for the titanium retiners holding up to a few miles of rocker to retainer conntact, IMO i would change them. if you are strapped for cash then look at the little lock ring on the inside maker sure it isnt worn.

When ever I put springs in mine the mechanic used that toold and I felt bad because it is a whole lot of putting all your wieght onto the spring for leverage. I would go with the first on with the snap on!
