dpfi to mpfi obd1 dizzy plug swap...can it be done?
ok heres the deal...recently my d15b2 blew up thanks to a nice 188,000 miles on it..so heres my theory...because i am getting a 92-95 civic d15b7..the multi point dx...when i did my dpfi to mpfi swap after taking the motor out..is it possible to just switch the dizzy plugs to an obd1 plug and run good since all the wires match the colors and all the sensors match up...will anything bad happen....do i need a jumper harness also for the ecu since its obd1 or can i use the pm6 si ecu.....give me some help here
you will need an obd0 to obd1 harness, but i dont know about the rest. i am also looking for some of this information. somebody help this guy out!
If you want to run a obd-1 dizzy, you will also need an OBD-1 ECU and to convert your car to OBD-1 by using a conversion harness. If you just want to get your car running just use a 88-91 SI distributor.
Your car will turn on and then shut off immediately if you just change the distributor. I've tried that before.

You put so many "..." that I don't have a clear idea what you are trying to do.
I think you are saying:
You blew up your D15B2 and pulled the motor.
You converted your wiring from DPFI to MPFI.
You are getting a D15B7.
You want to know how to run it.
If that's what you wrote then you have a couple option.
You can convert to OBD-1 or you can stay preOBD (OBD-0).
If you stay preOBD then get an 88~91 Si or HF dstributor and PM6 and there you go. You said you already did the MPFI conversion so you are good to go.
OBD-1 conversion you will need the OBD-1 ECU, 4 wire O2, and an OBD-1 or OBD-2 distributor (the one from the D16Z6, 92~95 Si, will need modification to fit so stay away from that one if you can). You will need to adapt your engine harness to support these parts. Many people hack off a plug and solder in a different plug to match up with the engine harness. You will also need a jumper harness or some other way to plug in that OBD-1 ECU. You could alsohack off the preOBD ECU plugs and solder in OBD-1 plugs or make your own jumper.
