"exhaust" question
I had an H22 swap to my 94 accord. I now need an exhaust + header. My question is that how much gain should I be expecting with a custom header (kteller) + Apex WS2 catback?
What other combos I should go with to maximize the gain while maintaining similar cost (~$1,000 I think). Or should I just use that money into a custom tubo setup for low boost daily driving? I had some bolt on before with the stock motor, but don't feel much in the gain at all. Maximum gain is estimated about 20hp at crank with I/H/E and aem pulley kit. So I don't feel like investing into boltons unless I can get more than that.
Thanks a lot.

well the problem with boosting your h22 is the frm sleeves as well as the ring lands...both are problematic with turbo h22's...
as for your exhaust, most cheap aftermarket headers are similar, but you can get a 2.5" merge collector welded on to maximize the performance...after that, if you live in an area where you can use a testpipe (no emissions testing) then just do that...otherwise get a high flow cat...the best way to maximize power from your exhaust is to just cut down on the restrictions...as long as the flow is good, you should see great power gains...
in my opinion, an intake is an intake...i use the stock intake which has worked fine for me...
also, the h22's seem to respond quite well to aftermarket cams...even the type s cams will yield some good power gains...

thanks for the advice. Well, I don't worry much about boosting it since it's going to be low boost. It's not the sleeves that are the problem, but the problem is its compatability with majority of aftermarket pistons. However, since I'm not looking for high boost, somewhere around 250whp, I should be safe with a good setup and tunning. As far as the cam sittuation, I'm only interested in Type-S cam since it response well, other turbo cam aren't that good on highends. However, I do not want to wander into the internals and such.
That aside, I'm considering regular NA application (emission problem). Also, I've heard of SMTP or something header? How is it compared to custom ones like from Keteller and such?
Thanks again. More opinions are welcome.
