h22 exhaust question
hey, ive searched and came up with jack. i will be swapping in the h22 into a 92 cx and was wondering what the possibilities are for an exhaust. do i have to have it custom made? i am just worried that the end of the header won't bolt on to my stock piping, so what should i do? i am trying to do it in a weekend cause it is my daily driver so i wanna figure it all out b4 i do it. are there any companies that make the piping for the swap??
thanks

I have an AN-R header, and I bought Klteller's custom exhaust and it bolted right up. and since the OEM header has a flex pipe part to it at the end it should be easier to connect.
http://www.kteller.com he has pre-bent exhausts for the civic hatch. It's 185 for the piping and he offers other components such as muffler and resonator.

The next time I have our EG hatchback track car up in the air, I'll take pics of what we did. Just because we didn't want to spend $400+ on a header at the time, we took a DC knock-off header (around $60), and a "racing" cat/straight pipe ($40) and cut the downpipe off on the header right after the flex pipe, and then welded the racing cat (after cutting an inch or so of that shorter) and it bolted directly to the stock hatchback B-pipe location.... we have a Greddy SP exhaust on there with 2.25" piping so it helps moving the exhaust, but it's basically a different method to go if you don't want to have to cut and shorten your stock exhaust, especially if you have an expensive one.
We welded our own for ourselves but a customer of ours took his to a muffler shop... only charged him $20 to do the cutting and welding, so basically came out with a decent setup for less than $150

yeah.. just go with something custom somehow.... even a local muffler shop would be good. stock civic piping usually bolts up to the prelude stuff.. but its considerably smaller.. and more restrictive... the civic pipe will hurt ur performance.

so the 2.25 is the way to go then? for the header i was nuts for imagine engineering header, does the dc knock off still create good numbers?

How's the Kteller piping? I've got the An-R header as well, and I was checking out the Kteller piping before. What are you running for a muffler also?

I bought my own muffler. I purchased a Moroso spiral flow from prostreetonline.com. Looks like a resonator, painted it black and I never have anyone try me except for people I know. Kteller piping is just awesome quality.
Only thing different I would do is adding another resonator maybe a 6 inch one to get rid of the raspiness at high rpm's. I bought the magnaflow 14 inch resonator from kteller. Its just a res and muffler with the 2.5 inch piping. It sounds sick (boxster) when driving normal, it does not sound like a Honda at all.
