Default R not doing so hot...

I have a 95 LS with a 97 JDM Type R motor in it. I am currently running a short ram intake, 2.5 inch exhaust, jdm dc sports header, skunk 2 stage 2 cams w/ upgraded valvetrain (except valves) adjustable cam gears and hondata. The car has been tuned, although the number, 182 to the wheels is surprisingly low, it was without my new exhaust. That was the first reasoning behind my assumption that there is something wrong. My car has been having some troubles for quite some time, but often times it doesn't want to start. It'll crank up, then die right away. This wouldnt bother me so much, however, its becoming more and more often. Then as i'm driving down the road, the car will just die. This has happened quite a few times, but as it turns out the car doesnt die ALL the way. I can hit the gas and it will make a tiny little hum as if its trying to go, but there is NO POWER, just like the car has stalled. The only way i can tell that it isn't stalled is that when i try and restart the car as i'm driving it makes the oh too familiar starting noise of CRRRRNNNKKK when the car is already started. I realize that the cams are a little aggressive for 11:1 cr, but i really dont think thats the problem. The car used to have really bad idling problems, but now itll go down a little low then spike back up when i push the clutch in. I've replaced practically every sensor i can think of (iac valve, map, tps, pcv), as well as a fuel pump and fuel filter, but nothing seems to fix it. i'm going to get some bigger injectors as well as new pistons for my future setup, but i'm worried about this problem persisting. When i first got the motor almost 2 years ago it definitely ran strong and fine, but as it goes on it feels like the throttle response isn't so great. I have yet to retune it recently ( the last one was almost a year ago) so it might be somethign to do with that? Has anyone had any experience remotely similar? thanks for the help.

See if the cam gears have slipped or the belt has lost some teeth ... and make sure the Hondata is connected and working properly.

Steve Sakai is in your area, have him plug in his laptup for a Hondata check up.
Good luck.

P.S. No such thing as too agressive cams for that compression ratio.

do you think i should go ahead and keep building the motor and then bring it in to tune/try and get fixed or should i just take it somewhere now and hope that they know what to do?

I'd look into the "problem" ASAP.
Might be something relatively simple like the belt or cam gears.
Don't let it get worse by having something actually break and end up like this:

Another thing to check would be the distributor, wires and plugs ... if you haven't already.
Still have a nagging feeling about a Hondata irregularity, purge valve stuff maybe?

yea i could definitely believe a hondata irregularity myself, since the symptoms seem to be uncharacteristic of any problem i know of. but i'll check it out
