first off, DO NOT i repeat DO NOT put oil in your master cylinder. it isnt brake oil, it is brake fluid. there is a major difference. unless you want to replace EVERYTHING. 1 drop of oil will kill your brake system. i would use what the manufacturer uses. i have always used toyota in the lexus's and if i remember i used toyota dot 3 in my civic.

Brake fluid? I used Honda DOT3, but noticed no difference between that and the autoparts stuff. You can also use DOT4, but it's overkill for a daily driver.

brake fluid? shouldn't need to be changed, its really just hydraulic fluid.

Yes, it needs to be changed regularly. It absorbs moisture, is broken down by heat from the braking system, and can boil and vaporize causing air to build up in the lines.

no it isnt. you can use tranny fluid in place of hydraulic fluid. brake fluid if i remember is sillicone based and water soluible. if you put any kind of oil in it, all the seals will swell up and become useless.

I would just stick with OEM brake fluid from Honda, unless you plan on racing and have an upgraded brake system.
