Default Best way to get metal shaving out of oil pan?

Hey everyone I just picked up a z6 oil pan for my turbo project and theres a ton of metal shaving in it. (I mean alot) Ive been trying to get them out for the last hopur but theres still alot left. Anyone know a good technique to get the shavings out. Ive been putting oil draining over and over. Also im about to go out there with a magnet. I dont know we will see what happens. -Nick

I would get some parts cleaner fluid and soak it in that. Or get some brake/parts cleaner and spray that in there swish it around and dump it out. After you get most of it out. Take an air gun and blow everything dry along with the any other dirt/metal in there. Then wipe it down to make sure everything is out of it.

Do what underpressure said. I used gas, swish it around, and dump. Gas cleans the whole thing so effortlessly. It's great.

Yeah that might even be cheaper. Or you can use keroscene (sp). Pretty much the same as parts cleaning fluid.

How do you gets get the shavings out of the baffled areas that you cant see or get into? I found swishing water/cleaner around wasn't enough. It just wouldnt come out and I couldnt get a rag in there.

If you can unbolt the baffle, than do that. If you can't, just keep swishing over and over towards the largest hole in the baffle. It just takes time.
