Can O2 sensor Restrict Acceleration/Power?
Car Specs: 2000 SH Lude : DC Header/MSD Ignition/AEM Cams/AEM CAI/AEM Fuel Rail.
Problem: The car has really no power or acceleration. And when you first put a load on it, like put it in gear and start to take off, it wants to sound as if it's dying... but usually wont, just putts a lot. You can you rev it up and it's fine. But when you're going down the road, it has no pick up at all.. I had a friend bring his Snap-On over to check codes, I got a MAP Sensor and Rear O2 Sensor shooting off the only codes. CEL is on. I replace the MAP sensor, and still same problem, so my question is ... could the O2 sensor be doing this? Doesn't sound right to me? I smell Clutch some, could a clutch do this? I have the rear O2 Sensor and a TPS Sensor to try to see if these fix it... you guy shave any idea what it could be? Idea's will help. Thanks.

with the CEL on it will throw the car into limp mode, so u'll have a 5600rpm rev limit and it will run the car rich, so yes replace that rear o2 sensor and clear the codes and u should be fine, if u replaced the map sensor and u still get a code for it then there is a problem with the wiring

Wow, so many ppl are mislead about this limp mode. My car has code.. crap now i forget, 63? 2ndary O2 reading too high or too low. Pretty much the 2ndary shows if the cat is working correctly or not. It functioning incorrectly may lead the ECU to run your car somewhat rich, but as for the 6500 rpm rev limit... nope.
Now when my check engine light was BLINKING this one time, then yes. That was definantly limp mode. The car was running extremely rich, giving it more throttle really didn't make me accelerate at all, and the car didnt' want to go past like 3400 rpm's or so (sucked since it came on and was blinking going up a mountain lol). That was definantly limp mode. You hit limp, you'll know. There is *NO* mistaking it.
