a guy i know has a 92 hatch with a b16 in it, with a b18c5 head. he doesnt really like it too much, and wants to get rid of it for an LS turbo. we both have what eachother is looking for, except i want a 1.8 vtec... will this engine work well in a 2600 lb integra? i know it definitely has the hp, but i dont know about the torque. i figure that since he wants 1600 for the long block and ecu(a sweet *** deal ), and i have a perfect running ls and 1200 in the bank, things would work out really good. but would my tall gears make the torque situation worse?

the engines good, he got it brand new about 3 weeks ago, hes just used to more power(he totaled a brand new civic si with a turbo kit). im just worrying about the torque; ive heard some people say that its a waste to put a b16 in an integra, and some say that its just fine.

 

look: if you're worried about going fast, don't worry so much. Honda put B16's into 2nd Gen Integras (Integra XSi) all over the place in Japan. and 2nd Gens aren't much lighter than 3rd Gens.
if you've got a daily driver and you're worried about gas mileage and noise and climbing hills and just getting to work or something, don't bother. personally, i love my low-end power, and wouldn't give it up for any HP amount. i'd rather have 155hp LS than 200hp B16. but a lot of my driving is in the lower engine speeds, so that's why i'd make my decision.
