Default will the d15b7 valve springs hold the d16a6 cam and 7200 rpm?

i want to swap out my stock dx cam for a 88-91 si/ex cam but i was wondering if the stock valvetrain can handle the cam and higher revs?
thanks

i read some post of bauleycivic's awhile back where the valves start to float on that head around 7600 so looks like your good to go up to 7200

Yea, you may want to redo that valvetrain before you start putting your rev's up that high.

well 7200 isnt that high. it is the stock redline on the d16a6 motor. i just want to get the most out of the cam without hurting the motor. anyone else with any experience?

AFAIK the heads are teh same sans cam, and obviously the OBD differences. From what i remember, the replacement part #'s are teh same for the valve train, so it should work w/o any issues....

D15B7 redline is 6400 RPM, fuel cut is 6800.

I'm pretty sure the A6 cam doesn't make power any higher than 6500...

Are you sure? My other car is a 91 CRX Si with a D16A6 stock and the redline is 6500? Is it different for different years? Are you telling me i can safely take it to 7100rpms?

Many people in the EF forum swear fuel cut is at 7415rpm -

Ummm, just shift at 6500, I'm pretty sure Honda made it like that for a reason...

Everyones tach is lying to them.
B7 stops at 6500.
After Mid 92ish or 93 B7's started to use A6 valve springs.
You have no need to rev beyond 7k, if that MUCH.

If you dont have supporting mods to rev past the stock fuel cutoff and/or redline it is pointless, your car wont make any more power and you risk blowing your **** up
