noob questions - d15
I've been reading alot on this website and I have learned alot. I want to make my 89 civic dx a daily driver that it fun to drive. I bought a spare engine with the multi port fi with wires and computer. The engine smokes, so I plan to rebuild, and send the head into the machine shop. I am still trying to decide between NA and turbo. I was thinking about running forged pistons for durability, haveing my rods shot peened, no clue what to do with the crank. I don't know what horse power I want to make, I want to be able to spin the tires and make some smoke, play around on the street, but my car will probibly never see the track. Plus I want to show up my friends who laugh at me for haveing a rice burner. I'd love to make them grab for the ***** handel when I give it hell!! I'd love any ideas you guys have. Thanks alot!
Welcome to (posting on) Honda-Tech. Looks like you're on the right track. If you're going to use the D series, turbo is the only way to make real power without spending trillions. Decide what you want, read up on things that work and you'll know what you need to do.
Good luck, you have a long road ahead of you.
