Tranny Question.... power steering lines going into speed sensor
Ok, I broke one of the little plugs on the speed sensor, I can't find a replacement anywhere and I get my license back in a week and ain't gonna wait to find a sensor. A friend of mine said that he heard some people on here (HT) just loop the lines and cover the plugs on the speed sensor. Is that gonna hurt anything or am I gonna have to wait to find another speed for these power steering lines. Let me know whats up ASAP so I can finish putting my car together
Anyone, I just searched everything on "speed sensor" or anything related and couldn't find it, I'm sure someone had to of done this or know
Neither, both are fine, but on the speed sensor there are to lines running to it, (power steering) lines, I broke one of the pieces off so I can't hook up the other hose, the speed sensor for some reason acts like a pump for whatever those 2 lines are for, question is, can I loop them and it wont hurt anything or do I have to get another speed sensor because I broke off the one nipple
Ok, if you look right in this post at like the second picture, those 2 hoses is what I'm talking about, that ain't my VSS but its a similar one, the hose go to metal power steering lines, can I loop them or do I need a new sensor?

would help if i put the post in https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1083005
that sensor is not your vehicle speed sensor. it's a sensor that detects when the power steering system needs more power from the engine, and raises the idle speed as needed. try idling in your driveway and turning the wheels from one lock to the other, not too slowly. the idle will raise a couple hundred revolutions per minute, then drop back to normal when you're done.
Yea i knew it wasn't my sensor but it was something for power steering off the sensor. So thats all it'll do if I loop the lines is raise my idle while I'm turning? Either way, I just pulled the sensor and I'm taking it to my work to mess around with it, I have enough of a nipple to maybe melt a hose to it and than clamp a small clamp on it or if I'm lucky and I keep the pieces dry I can get the clamp nice and tight.... I'll let ya'll know again, thanks lstegman
