1.5 converted mpfi wont idle

1.5 converted mpfi wont idle
This is how the stroy goes.
My friend went mpfi a couple of months ago, he got bored so he bought a dohc zc for his 88hb. So im going to use the mpfi off his old engine. Now a couple of days b4 he did the zc swap his car (1.5 with mpfi) started indling like ****. Once your moving its fine but when your stopped it wont idle on its own at all, most of the time it stalls. My guess is that the IACV needs to b cleaned along with a nex dizzy cap and rotor. What im trying to get at tho is that could it be something with the mpfi its self that could cause this?
Please let me know what u think cuz im in a bind, dont want my shitty slow *** dpfi anymore, but i dont want to loose the reliabilty my car currently has
