i have the autometer tach install in my car but the light work in rev. if i dim the light to the dash the tach gets brighter and if i dim the tach the dash get brighter its really pissing me off that i cant figure this problem out any help would be greatly helpful.

 

Aren't there two dimmer wires? Have you tried the other one?

 

you might have the bulb in back words, try reversing it to see whats up.

Ok, seriously now, how do you have the Gage wired up? im concerned about the ground and the wire for the lighting in particular. Let me know and we can go from there..............

 

i have the exact same situation, i reversed the lighting wire

 

i had the same problem when i installed my tach. I just switched the wire it connects to in the dash. I can't dim the tach anymore but i've never done it in the past and havn't dimmed my lights since i put the tach in.

 

i have a solid ground to the frame under the dash. i also tryed both wires on the dimmer switch for the tach
