ok i've searched and couldnt find what i was looking for. so can anybody please help. i threw a code 14 and i know its the IACV. but i dont know where its located.
i have a 98 d16y8 motor. can anybody show some pictures of where its located and how it looks. thank you

are IAC valves the same for B and D series motors?

im also looking at getting a new IACV and need to know if i can use a d series one on my B??

 

i believe that they are the same between D and B series motors...i used the old one from my d15b7 on the b16 the other day...it is shorter but if u look there is a second hole for it...i think u might need to use the bolts from the old one....the fixture for one of the water lines is different but it is still able to reach it.

 

boostedcivicsir showed you where it is for a 5-spd Y8.

If you had an auto Y8, its located on the bottom of the throttle body.

so no, they arent the same. but possibly compatible. As for PROJEK98, look behind the TB, in teh pic above as stated #9 & 10, the big thing on 9 is the IACV. Just get some choke cleaner and spray that **** down, or see if is broken or w/e. possible vacuum leak. worst case is bad IACV and need replacing
