Default Difference between obd0 blocks and obd1

I am purchasing a vehicle that has dropped a valve.
Can I buy a obd0 motor and just swap over the parts onto the obd1 motor?
Or are there certain characteristics on the block that differ, so I need to buy a obd1 motor?
thanks

Block should be exactly the same. I think the head is the only thing that differs. What engine are you referring to?
