Default Apex Filter + Icebox?

I don't know if this has been said or not... But I couldn't find it by searching, so I'll just risk it and ask hopeing no one bites my face off...

I got a Comptech Iceboc + Arm, and my stock comptech filter is gettin a bit old and dirty. I was just wondering if the Apexi Power Filter will fit on the arm and into the Icebox. I think it does, but I just wanna make sure...

Thanks for the help.

Your stock filter, or comptech filter? You could just buy the comptech filter if you are using the OEM filter, or the comptech cleaner to clean the comptech filter if you have the comptech filter (which I'm assuming you do).

I guess I didn't explain it too well huh...

I have the blue Comptech foam thingy cone dinger in it... Haha.

Would it be better to just clean it up? Cuz if the apex one fits, I'd rather use that... I think that the Apex filter should be better... or something... Uhuhuh...

I don't know if the apexi filter is better or not to be honest. I know I'd rather just clean the one that's already in it though. The cleaner is likely cheaper at $11.00.

I'd imagine that lasts more than one cleaning also.

most stock replacement filter will fit in the icebox for sure,
like spoon drop in filter
the biltz metal cone filter fits in the icebox as well, so i guess your apexi will fit until it is way wider or longer than stock filter

What width is the icebox (inner width) i have also been thinking about this, i already have an apexi dual funnel power filter and so if you tell me what width your icebox is, i'll tell you if the filter fits inside it!

clean up the existing blue comptech foam filter. It's sole purpose is to be reused.

It does. And Agreed. Clean and reuse what you already have.

I have two actually, I swap in a clean one every time I change the oil.

The Comptech filters are made by UNI.

Search around the net for the uni cleaner and oil.

I wouldn't know, the car isn't mine, but I'd assume it's rather loud.

You wont be dissapointed, cleans up really nice with the cleaner...

I dont know how most others do it or what the bottle says, but I spray it and let it sit...

Then I fill a bucket with h2o and dip it up and down really fast and you can see the crap just come off of there.

Repeat if necessary. Also, it usually takes a while to dry, b/c I guess it encapsulates some of the water deep within the filter foam.

So moral of the story is dont do it just before you have to leave...itll take a while (2-3 hrs) to dry fully by itself.
