I love the R :)
I dunno about you guys, but Ive always been very strict about who I let drive my car. Actually, pretty much nobody else is allowed to drive my car. Mainly because I know whoever drives it is gonna beat the hell out of it in vtak non stop and I just dont want anything to break unless Im driving it. Plus my new motor has just over 1000 miles on it.
Well anyway, last night I let a friend drive it. By drive it, I mean beat the living **** out of it. Hes a VW guy and never really been behind the wheel of vtak before. I was nervous watching the RPM gauge sit at 6-7K RPM for extended periods of time without my foot on the gas pedal. But that nervousness was soon overcome by happiness as I finally felt what the R feels like from the passenger perspective. It was an interesting feeling. When you are driving the car, in total control of the gas pedal, you know what to expect. Sitting in the passenger seat is a whole other story and I loved every second of it. The roar of the motor even sounds different.
And the chipped R32 we played with on the highway got his feelings hurt

yeah after we had a little fun I made him take it easy in the slow lane lol
Im not trying to say the R is > *. Im just saying this was the first time I experienced the R from that point of view and it was great.
He also enjoyed it and gave a good review after driving it. He said he felt very "in touch" with the car as if he was part of it. He felt like it could do anything he wanted it to. He was also impressed with the shifter feel. Obviously I already knew what he was talking about and just smiled

I have let one other person drive my car, and thats b/c without his help my motor would have never been installed correctly! The couple times he has driven it i have always been in the passenger seat with him. With the window down you can hear the motor so much louder b/c you are sitting on the intake side obviously. I agree with Race The World Ryan...its a blast, but that doesn't mean i dont like driving better

i let my freind with a gsr drive my R, he had his car about 6 months before I got the R, he was better at driving stick than me for months!! (Not anymore, he hugged a tree in his GSR). I pretty much learned on how to drive stick on his GSR. I have let a few freinds drive it, but i absolutely hate it and will probably not let it happen again. Sunday night my parents asked me for the first time to leave my keys at home incase of emergency before I left for school. I was hesitant, they cant drive stick.
