Default Distributor problems : ICM or Distributor housing?

Ok..Ive had some distributor problems before, but they occured while driving. Ive changed everything on it once(a while ago), and now it didnt start at school. So, I checked for spark, there was none, so I swapped coils...that wasnt it. Then, I used my friends b16a dist.(obd1) and it worked. SO, that leaves only the housing or ICM(ignitor)...my question is, is there any way to determine whichone it is without using a voltmeter, as I dont know how to use one. thanks in advance..

P.S. I didnt test my friends ICM because his screws are on the inside of the cap..mine are on the outside of the housing(that hold in the ICM)

Try taking the ignitor out of your buddy's distributor and see if that is the problem.

But, to be honest with you...I would just get another distributor. It will be about the same price and a lot less hassle.
